How to add debit card in Zelle
You can add a debit card of your choice. Just make sure to check the list of available banks and credit unions. Or Zelle will throw the ‘We’re sorry. The card is not eligible’ message on adding a non-eligible card.
Right after checking the eligibility, you can follow the quick guide mentioned below to add a debit card in Zelle.
Step 1 – Open Zelle app
Firstly, download the Zelle app.
And if you already have the Zelle app, make sure you have the latest version of the app.
You can check for the app update in the respective app store.
Step 2 – Go to user account settings
After opening the Zelle app, you will find yourself on the home page of the Zelle app.
And there, in the top left corner of the app, you will see a gear icon for account settings.

Step 3 – Select Account tab

There, you need to select the Account tab.
Step 4 – Select Switch Accounts

Now, you will be asked for details of your debit card.
Here, begin with adding the 16 digit debit card number.
You will have to enter the expiration date and CVV as well. So, make sure to keep your debit card handy.
Step 6 – Enter personal details
After adding the card details, you will be asked to enter your personal details like first and last name.
Make sure to enter your official name, as Zelle will be verifying details before adding the new payments method. And if the details don’t match those in the national records, your card wouldn’t be added.
Click Continue when done.
Step 7 – Add your Billing Address
And finally, after adding your card and personal details. You will need to enter your Billing Address, ZIP code, and other details.
Step 8 – Wait for verification
Now, you can sit back and relax.
You have done your part now. Zelle will be reviewing and verify the details you entered.
The verification part doesn’t take much long generally. You will be able to use your card within a few minutes of adding it.

Can I use Zelle to send money to Netspend card?
No, you cannot use Zelle to send money to Netspend card. Zelle doesn’t allow all debit cards on their platform. One has to check the list of eligible banks and credit unions before trying to add them to Zelle.
